Deon Barksdale, Jr. is a Tampa, Florida native and a graduate of Florida A&M University. He most recently appeared as José in Angels Unawares for the Kinsman Avenue Publishing book launch. Additional stage credits include Drifter in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at The Palace Theatre; Teo in For Carmen in San Sebastián, a statewide tour with The REV Theatre Company; Stool Pigeon in King Hedley II; Br’er Rabbit in Sing on Ms. Griot; Zacharias in Helena Barrington’s: Majesty; Lil Deon in A Night at the Cotton Club (The Essential Theatre); Delbert Tibbs in The Exoneratedat the Don Evans Theatre; and the world premieres of Play Makers: Zoom Into Playwriting, As You Are, and Crooners & Vamps with Florida Studio Theatre. His film credits include Officer Jack in Rydin Durty, Guy in Punchline, Scruffy Student in Comedy #2, Sams in Lean On Me: Swede Short Film, and a patient in the Student Health Services Informational Video with the University of South Florida. His voice-over work includes Sam “Flip” Butler in Sugar Maple (Osiris Media Corporation), Principal Reed in HEAVY, and Rigatoni in America’s Next Top Noodle with Florida Studio Theatre.
